Mission Statement
The School District of Nekoosa recognizes that not all students learn in the same way, therefore, the Nekoosa Academy provides for each individual to learn in the best way possible for their situation. That is why the Nekoosa Academy had been created as an alternative high school that provides educational experiences that build on each student's individual strengths, career goals, increases self-esteem, and promotes lifelong learning.
Vision Statement:
To empower student's success, in the Academy, is the main focus to the mission and purpose of the Academy school. The Academy teaches to the whole student including: learning across all academic areas, behavioral management, life skills, confidence to pursue further education, or follow vocational domains.

Students who successfully complete the Academy requirements receive a Nekoosa Academy Diploma which is equivalent to a high school diploma.
Admission Process:
Attendance at Nekoosa Academy is a privilege and enrollment spots are limited to 10 students in each session. To apply for admission, the student or their family should contact the high school counseling office at 715-886-8082.

Here are some quotes from our students about what helps them to be successful at the Academy:
“I prefer to work at my own pace and I am not competing with anybody else.”
“If it wasn’t for this program, there is no way I’d be starting college in the fall.”
“I am able to get the one on one help I need to be able to complete and understand my school work.”
